Examples of Visual Problems
Representations of Some Problems

These are some representations of some visual dyslexia problems. The first 4 are extreme examples from Irlen, H. (1991). Reading by the Colors. Overcoming dyslexia and other reading disabilities through the Irlen method, Avery Publishing Group inc. Garden City Park, New York.

Click on the images to enlarge and read my discussion associated with the image. It would be difficult to make representations that showed all the different variations so all the visual dyslexics could say that image represents my problem .That is not my goal. My goal is to provide a starting point for the visual dyslexic to stop and consider what their own visual problem is so they can describe their own problem. The See Right Dyslexia Glasses will remove any described visual  problem.

Even after seeing images that represent visual dyslexia problems there are a few unanswered questions that need to be resolved about visual dyslexia problems. The concept of a blind spot needs to be understood as well as how the brain fills in missing visual information. The missing visual information that is portrayed in the images is caused by autofluorescence and for some visual dyslexics this missing information seems to be filled in by the brain while other dyslexics describe the missing information as either missing or obscured.

Some visual dyslexia problems can only be represented with video. Here is one example of a visual problem that involves motion.
